Welcome my new nephew...Asher Michael Fink!!!

Just had to share some pictures of when I was in Ohio last weekend to meet my new nephew Asher Michael Fink. He was born on Oct. 27th, 2012 at 5:02am weighing 7 lbs. 12 oz. and 21.5 inches long. He is so handsome and I wish I could be near him more often so I wouldn't miss so much of him growing up. I will get to see him again at Christmas but until then Momma Julie has said she will send pictures of him as often as she can (which makes for one happy Auntie). By the way I will be Aunt JoJo and Jason will be Uncle Hoefer or Uncle J which ever comes first for Asher and is easiest for him. Here are some pics from the visit...

More pics to come of baby Asher for sure!!! Love him soo much!!!

Baby Shower for Baby Fink

As promised I am posting pictures from the baby shower my mom and I hosted for my sister and baby Fink. We had a pretty good turn out for the shower and they got a lot of nice things. The theme looked awesome (if I do say so myself...wink). So here are pictures from the shower...

Browns Team Table

Indians Team Table

Cavs Team Table

Ohio State Team Table
Columbus Crew Team Table

These were the different table decorations. Each guest got a box of cracker jacks that had a sticker on them that said "Thanks for popping in to celebrate Baby Fink".

Here is the drinks/condiments table...turned out pretty cute!

Here is the cake table minus the majority of the cupcakes...
each cupcake had a fondant topper that was a sports ball

Sort of a fuller view of the room decorated

Concession Stand banner I made for where we had the concession style food

Mom got Julie this onesie...too cute!

The "My Auntie is the Best" onesie I got Lil' Man...cause I will be his favorite Aunt

I have to start him off right with Indians gear...three cute Indians onesies

Overall the whole shower turned out just the way we wanted it to and Julie loved it.

Finally a picture of me and my momma before everyone started to arrive

So there you go...a recap of the Baby Fink sports themed shower. Can't wait for Lil' man to get here so we can all find out what his name is and enjoy him!!

New things I have made...Getting Ready for my NEPHEW

So as some of you may know I will be an AUNT for the first time (on my side of the family) in October. My sister Julie and brother-in-law Adam are going to be having their first child...a bouncing BABY BOY!!! He doesn't have a name yet so I can't share that funness yet, but I can share some pictures of diaper cakes my mom and I made for her shower coming up in September. We are having a sports themed shower because his nursery is a sports themed nursery. I will be sure to followup with another post to share pictures from her shower. So here we go... each cake is based on a family favorite sports team in Ohio (of course what else would you expect from me and my family...die hard Ohio sports fans)!!

This is the Ohio State themed cake...By far one of my favorites!!

This is the Columbus Crew soccer team themed cake

This is the Cleveland Browns themed cake

The Cleveland Cavaliers themed cake

The Cleveland Indians themed cake...this is my other favorite of the cakes!!!

They all turned out so cute...I am excited for the shower and how all the decorations will look. Will definitely post pics after it.

Hope all are well...enjoy the rest of summer...I for one am looking forward to FALL for many reasons!!!

Jonie Tucker, PHR

It is official...I passed the PHR and I received my score and certificate showing I passed. I was so excited to get this in the mail. I went and got a frame that evening to put it in and took it to work the following Monday (I got it on Friday afternoon) and hung it up in my office. Here is the picture of the certificate and pin I received and then a pic of it hanging up in my office...

Now I have 3 years till recertification...during which time I have to get 60 hours of CEUs to renew my certification or retake the test to renew certification. I also should be able to sit for the SPHR test if I wanted to upgrade my certification by that point. I haven't quite decided which route to go yet.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I will be back soon with some crafty posts...I have a nephew on the way (Baby Fink) and have been working on some items for him that I will share in the future!!

Lots been going on...

It's been a while since I had a chance to post on here. Sorry about that. There has been a lot going on in our lives and finding the time to update my blog has not been a priority. However, since I have fallen behind I will fill you in on happenings over the last few months.

In May not much happened, after finding out my sister is expecting in October and my brother graduating from college we went home to celebrate both occasions on Mother's day weekend. So we got to see a lot of my extended family which was very nice since I had not seen many of them in quite some time. We had our first long holiday weekend home in Lexington just the two of us since we got married. Lots of relaxing that weekend and enjoying each others company.

In the beginning of June we went to Benton to visit Jason's family. We have a new niece on the way (due in September-- Sophie Kate) and we won't see John, Jill and the girls till probably around Thanksgiving. We also got to attend the wedding of a couple of Jason's high school friends Ryan & Megan Sears. It was a beautiful wedding. They are perfect for each other : - ) We also celebrated our 3 year anniversary on June 13th. Hard to believe its been 3 years already...wow how time flies! For our anniversary we went to Cincinnati to the Great American Ballpark to watch the Reds play the Indians. We had lots of fun! I got a home run ball hit by an Indians player during batting practice which made my night : - ) Here are a few pics from that night...

Before the game Jason and I hanging out waiting for the gates to open

Once we got in the park and to our seats...not bad seats (good place to get home run balls)

Me and the batting practice home run ball I got during Indians batting practice

the home run ball I got from batting practice...made my night!!!

Other happenings in June include me studying for my PHR exam again...I didn't pass it in January when I took it (I missed passing by 3 points--which really sucked but motivated me to pass this time). My exam was scheduled for June 23rd at 1pm... I surprisingly wasn't nervous and felt fairly confident in myself and my ability to pass the exam this time. I had been working in HR for almost 6 months now and dealing a lot more with things I would be getting tested on, so having the knowledge base from reading the SHRM modules and the hands on experience gave me confidence. I took the exam on the 23rd and after what seemed like 10 minutes when the test calculation finished and the screen with pass/fail on it popped up I had to do a triple take at the screen... it said PASS!!! HOORAY!!! I passed and was so excited. One because I didn't waste money again by not passing it and two because I don't have to take the test again!!! YAY!!! So now I am doing the waiting game to see what my score was and to get my actual certification in the mail so I can then change my work email signature to Jonie Tucker, PHR and change my business cards to this as well. Funny thing, Jason made the joke to me that it wasn't fair that I get to put 3 letters after my name before he does... lol : - ) His 3 letters after plus the 2 letters he can put before will be worth and mean a lot more than my 3 letters.

So this is what has been going on in the life of the Tucker's for the last few months. I promise to try to post more often than every few months.

HAPPY 4th of JULY!!!

Egg Allergies are not much fun...

So as many of you probably know Jason (my hubby) is allergic to eggs. Which for the most part is not a huge issue for him. It just means checking labels and asking folks if certain foods that we aren't 100% sure if it has eggs in it before he consumes it. We came across a recipe of my Grandma Juanita's called Crazy Cake (i.e. poor man's cake) that has no eggs in it and he tried it and loved it. So recently while searching the internet I found a blogger who posts eggless cooking recipes and helpful hints. I have already found several items I want to make for hubby to try!!! You should check out this website http://www.egglesscooking.com !!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Sorry it's been so long...Lots been going on

Well since my last post a lot has happened. Best of all, three days after my last post I started a new job at Hunter Mfg.,LLP as the new HR Manager. This has been an interesting adjustment for me. Going from working from home doing recruiting to working in an office (having to get up early and look presentable) and taking on new responsibilities. All have been very welcomed changes :) These changes have also required changes for Jason's daily routine ( he now walks Leia each morning before heading to school and then makes dinner just about every night). I have appreciated so much his willingness to take on these items since I can no longer get then taken care of (unless we want to eat dinner at 7pm each night). He is such a great hubby!!! We have also made trips to Ohio and Western Kentucky to visit with family in the last month. Fun trips for sure!! I have ideas for future posts to fill you in on other things we have decided to do this spring/summer and share some pics from things we have been doing! Stay tuned for new posts coming soon!!!

My new best friends...

The story of my life right now...applying for jobs. CareerBuilder.com, Monster.com and Indeed.com have become my best friends over the last few weeks. I have been applying for a job a day (or so it seems) for the last several days. I am praying a door will open up soon and I can get back to work.

I have been trying to keep myself occupied at home with cleaning and organizing; but I am running out of these type of things to do. I have also been trying to make it to the gym to work out since I have free time and really have nothing better I could do for myself than to get healthier. I have also been trying to catch up on scrapbooking (when I get in the mood to be creative). I have been finding things on Pinterest that I think would be fun and creative to make either for my house or for friends and family...however no job equals cutting down on non essential spending. Hopefully when I get a new job I will be able to find the time to do some of these projects.

So basically this is the story of my life right now : - )

I did have a very fun and family filled weekend the 13th-15th celebrating my birthday with Mom, Dad, Julie, Adam, Luke and the hubby. The ladies went shopping while the gents went to the movies and then we met up for dinner at Sonny's BBQ in Nicholasville... It was so YUMMY!!!

I can't wait to celebrate my sister's b-day in February in Columbus!!

The craziness that is my life...

Sorry it has been so long since I last posted. A lot has happened since then. We celebrated Christmas in Ohio with my family (which was awesome---pics and a post to come in the near future), I found out that the company I was working for is downsizing and my position had been eliminated (effective immediately), and now I am studying for my PHR certification exam (which is Jan 13th) and applying for jobs as much as I can.

Yesterday was my 28th birthday... nothing different about turning 28 from when I turned 27. I did feel like a very special woman yesterday though. All the birthday wishes from friends and family on facebook, two dozen roses (1 dozen from my parents and 1 dozen from Jason), phone calls from my family singing happy birthday, a red velvet cake from my dear friend Erin and several cards. All made me feel so very special!!

Today, I have an interview at 2:30pm with Hunter Manufacturing located here in Lexington for an HR position. I am a little nervous, but pray that God will ease my nerves and allow me to be confident in my interview.

Tonight Jason and I will be going out to dinner with Chris and Erin (as we have the past few years) to celebrate Chris's birthday (today Jan 5th) and my birthday (yesterday Jan 4th). This has become a fun tradition since my family is not close by to do what we traditionally did on birthdays (go out to dinner at the birthday person's choice).

I think today will turn out to be a wonderful day... will need to put my nose to the grindstone tomorrow to get reading/studying done for the PHR exam.

Say some prayers for me today and continually that God will open doors and bless me with a job opportunity. Thank you all!!

Have a blessed day!!!
