In the Christmas Spirit...

Well I have been in the holiday spirit the last few days. I have made sure we have all of our holiday shopping done and all presents wrapped. I have also been making some goodies to take with us to Christmas with my family in the next few days. I thought I would share a couple pics of the delicious things I made...

I used vanilla almond bark to cover the pretzels and then used red sugar glitter to cover them

These are crazy cake cupcakes (see my post on Jason's birthday cake for description of cake) & homemade icing sprinkled with crushed candy canes

I also can't pass up the opportunity to share a picture of my cute little fur baby with her new Christmas present toy (it has a place to put an empty water bottle in it--she loves to chew on bottle like that)...it is perfect for her!! She got it a little early because she went to the groomer yesterday (which she hates) and we wanted to give her something to be happy about rather than mad at us for taking her there.

Love this little puppy so much...she is so spoiled!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

10 Days till Christmas...

I love when so many stores have such great sales going on for Christmas and the Christmas money I still have left to buy said sale items. A couple months ago I went shopping at The Limited with some friends and one of them had a coupon and there were some shirts on sale...So of course I found a couple (well one type of shirt but in two different colors) and got them. Well of course I have come to love these shirts. So when I saw that The Limited was having a FRENZY sale yesterday and said tops were going to be 50% off I knew I needed to get more of them in other colors. So you can only guess what I did...bought that same shirt in the rest of the colors I didn't have ( hehe). So you can see how cute, comfy and able to wear with so many different styles this shirt is here ya go

I am looking forward to getting these shirts soon!! Now back to Christmas...I have all of my shopping done and I am so ready for some time off work and time with family in Ohio!!

Hope everyone is having a great week!!

Christmas Shopping

Well it is December 5th and I have almost all of my Christmas shopping done. Just a few loose ends to tie up and we will be good to go. Christmas celebrations for us have already begun...last week I went to Nashville/Goodlettsville, TN for my company holiday party. We had dinner and a game at Amerigo's in downtown Nashville. The food there was good...definitely left full...however I do wish I had had the chance to get some San Antonio Taco Co. while I was there. Oh well next time I am in town I will definitely hit it up. We played a survivor game and my team won!! It was nice to get to see my coworkers since we only see each other like 2-3 times a year. Next on the list for Christmas events is Christmas with the Tucker's this coming weekend. We will be spending time with Jason's side of the family for the weekend. Excited to see the kiddos and the adults too!! Then we are off for a couple weeks and then we head to celebrate Christmas with the Hodge's. So looking forward to all this time with family!!

By the way...since Jason has been able to use his Christmas/birthday gifts since this past spring he gave me part of my Christmas early...

It is the start to the Willow Tree Nativity set I have been wanting for a while...I love it!!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful start to your week!!

Happy Holidays!!

Baby Shower Prep for Erin's sister...

So this weekend I was traveling for work the majority of the time. But on Sunday afternoon after church and lunch my good friend Erin came over and we made cake pops with my cake pop maker for favors for her sister's baby shower coming up this weekend and we made a banner for the decorations too. The cake pops turned out pretty cute (wish we knew how to make them look smooth and completely round like the fancy bakery ones). Here are some pics of the cake pops finished and ready for the shower...

This baby shower is going to be so cute for Baby Couper!! Sorry we didn't take a picture of the finished banner...hopefully I can get some pics from Erin after the shower to show it. It was a fun afternoon with my friend...glad I could help her make the baby shower just the way she wants it for her precious nephew!

Hope all had a great weekend!!

The holidays are coming...

The holidays are coming soon...and I have started my wish list for Christmas. One of the items on my list of things I would like for Christmas is a new 1" hair straightener. However, I would like to know what straightener you would recommend I get/request for Christmas this year. Here are a few options I have looked at (keep in mind I would like for this to be an item that will last me quite a few years and is not outrageously expensive)...

CHI Air (at target.com for $99.99)

Remington Silk & Curl (at target.com for $29.99)

I am open to other suggestions as well!! Let me know your opinion : - )

My ABSOLUTE favorite TV show had its season premiere last night...

I absolutely can not get enough of this show. I have watched every episode of every season. I am so excited for Season 7... the love interest I had been hoping to happen through the whole show is finally happening. Booth and Bones!! I am hoping that since they shortened the season this year for actress Emily Deschanel to have her baby that it will not mean that this is the last season ever of Bones. I will be very sad.

If you have never seen this show you need to go to the fox website... BONES (click on the word and go to the website)... and check out the show. You will be hooked for sure!!!

Looking forward to next Thursday evening!!!

Halloween/Birthday Fun...

So today is an extra special day of the year...not only is it Halloween but it is my hubby's birthday too. So today I made him a cake (one that requires no eggs -- so he can eat it-- and is very yummy). The cake is called Crazy Cake (or Poor Man's Cake). Here are the ingredients and how its made...

Here is the recipe...the following pics are from the process of making the cake

I also made homemade icing for the cake. Here are the ingredients and pics from making the icing...

This was before food coloring

After food coloring...it is purple (but sort of looks blue in this picture)

The FINAL PRODUCT...

So this evening before the trick-or-treaters started coming we went out to eat with a UK IBS Program classmate of Jason's-- Shawn and his girlfriend Mallory. We had dinner at Logan's and then came back to the house for cake and hangout time while the trick-or-treaters came by. We dress Leia up for Halloween...she was Princess Leia (quite fitting for her since she is our Princess Leia). Here are some pics of Leia in her costume and our friends over for Jason's birthday...

This is from when I made her costume and she sat still for me to take pics

My little Princess Leia...isn't she the cutest!!

Pics from tonight...

We had a great time with friends celebrating Jason's birthday and enjoying the Halloween holiday!!
